What's in Your Ice Cream?

Our apartment this summer is above a chocolate shop, where they also serve ice cream. This weekend the shop attracted attention when someone saw the face of Jesus in the spumoni ice cream. Now you can follow the link and decide what you see for yourself. (My vote is that it looks more like William Shakespeare.) But what I really find interesting is how often people see these "manifestations," and how it shows how desperately people want to believe that God is out there somewhere trying to communicate with Man on earth. God is out there. He does communicate with man on earth, but we don't have to look to our ice cream, toast, or grilled-cheese sandwiches to find Him. He has designated a latter-day prophet to receive revelation for the world. He also promises each of us that we can receive personal revelation from Him when we express sincere faith and follow His commandments to remain worthy of the companionship of the Holy Spirit.

I love our prophet Thomas S. Monson. I know that God wants all His children to come to know Him, and he has provided His prophet to show us the way to live our lives in order to be worthy to live in God's presence again.

The current prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Thomas S. Monson(center). He is assisted by two counselors: Henry B. Eyring (left) and Dieter F. Uchtdorf(right). Together, they make up the First Presidency of the Church (much like Peter, James, and John in Christ's time). LEARN MORE
