The Great Thaw

The snow has begun to melt, and look what we found!

Our blue snow shovel!

It's now leaned up against the side of the house, jealous of all the attention our new green snow shovel got while it was missing.

The boys are happier for the warmer temperatures, and a chance to finally spend time outside again.

Baby boy footprints and big daddy footprints.

Freedom!

We had fun playing a game in the snow compliments of my childhood: Fox and Rabbit. Stomp out a big circle in the snow with an x through the middle. Then you name one player "the fox" and any number of other players "the rabbits." The fox then chases the rabbits around trying to catch them (all players can only run in the stomped tracks) when the fox tags a rabbit that player becomes the new fox, and the mayhem continues!

We have to get our outdoor fun in while we can, because once the covering of snow is gone, the backyard will be a giant mud hole until it dries up this summer!

Glad you remember Fox and Rabbit (or Geese as I think Dad played it). We have real rabbits in our back yard, so we just chase them. The snow looks fun. Glad you are enjoying it! And glad you found the shovel! Keep one in your trunk! Love, Nonny

That sounds like a great game. I'll have to remember that one.

Sounds fun! Yes, it's so nice for those sweet boys to get outside for a bit!
