It only took us 6 years in Kansas to see our first prairie burning. (You can see the fire crew in this picture starting the fire--it's good for the prairie--it's what keeps this land a prairie not a forest.)
It was in the top 3 things we wanted to do in our whole stay here. I guess we can leave now. . .
We were told that this burning was quite "lame" --using technical terminology-- because there was basically zero wind, and a good prairie burning show requires a minimum of about 10 miles an hour of wind.
We still enjoyed the show.
